The tour will starts between 8:00 and 8:30 in the morning. Mae Wang district is further down south from Chiang Mai City, the ride to our first stop around 1 hour to elephant camp. At the elephant camp it’s time for an elephant trek of 1 hour through the jungle, dense forests and rivers around Mae Wang. Enjoy the scenery while the mahout (elephant driver) guides the elephant on its way. Don’t forget to bring a camera as the views are amazing in this hilly area!
Our next stop is a Karen hill tribe village where you will be able to see the Karen tribe. They are a colorful tribe so it’s a great photo opportunity here as well. After that, it’s time for trek around the Mae Wang Area, the trek is suitable for any reasonably fit person and families are more than welcome. Our experienced trekking guide will show you the local flora and fauna and guide you through rice paddies, over hills and past small rivers. Enjoy the dense forest and the open areas where Thais prepare their rice fields. After an hour trek, we arrive at the Mae Sapok waterfall, where you can go for a refreshing swim. Don’t forget to bring a swimming suit! After enjoying a cool down at the waterfalls, our van will be ready to bring you to a restaurant. Enjoy a fresh Thai set menu lunch here and gather some energy for the final part of the tour. If you need vegetarian or halal lunch options, please contact us to arrange it.
Our last stop of the day is the Mae Wang River. Here we board a traditional bamboo raft for an hour raft down the river. Steering the raft is not necessary as there are many experienced locals who know exactly how it works. Your job is to sit down and relax and view the river banks while we slowly make our way to the end point. You might even see some elephants at work on the wayEnd of the day, you will board our van for the return journey to hotel in Chiang Mai!
